Hi, I'm Talisa!
I work as a UX and Copy Strategist. That means I help teams create clear, narrative-driven experiences by helping with things like user research, information architecture, and brand story.
When I'm not working with clients, I help produce a musical public access show, curate an activism-oriented newsletter for my friends, and am writing a television pilot about a Chinese family navigating apartheid-era South Africa.
I'm a co-founder at Her Girl Friday, a group that puts on events that feature work and advice from female-identified journalists.
Johannesburg-born and California-raised, I’m usually based in Brooklyn.
Some things I've done in the past:
Humanized big data at Foursquare • made financial planning delightful at LearnVest • taught UX at General Assembly • wrote stories for North Brooklyn’s oldest weekly paper • took a science road trip • fostered communities around public art • studied The Politics of Language at The Gallatin School of Indvidualized Study at NYU
